Lifestyle changes

Why is it that people delay lifestyle changes? I always hear: "I'm going to start _______ fill in the blank (dieting, stopping smoking, exercising, quitting drinking) on blank date." And blank date is never close to the present. Why do people delay? This makes no sense to me.

Someone wants to be just like their Uncle...

Alex (Uncle Aggie) came over to visit a few weeks ago. He began setting up his X-Box as I was putting AJ in the tub. As soon as I finished bathing AJ, he jumped out of the tub and ran naked to his Uncle Alex so he could play X-box with him...I managed to get him dressed eventually.
